O panda, até onde eu sei, é, reconhecidamente, um bicho do bem, como se fosse incapaz de fazer qualquer tipo de mal a outro ser vivo.
Já o leão é outro caso: acho que não há quem duvide da prontidão (e da eficácia) de sua mordida. A intimidante imagem do bichano povoa até o imaginário dos contribuintes brasileiros.
Para desfazer a fama de malvado, mas sem se desvincular totalmente da imagem do grande felino, a Receita Federal do Brasil lançou um programa para aproximar-se dos futuros contribuintes: o site Leãozinho (por sinal, muito bonitinho).
Ao navergar no ambiente tributo-amigável, fiquei bem entretida, até me deparar com um tipo muito estranho de déjà vu: um leão com cara de panda (ou panda com cara de leão, já não sei mais)...
Explico: no link "nossa estória", há uma cartilha chamada "O leãozinho e o menino", que conta como esses dois personagens, descontentes com as mazelas de seus mundinhos, uniram-se para salvá-los.
Até aí, nada de mais. Mas, ocorre que o tal leãozinho foi escolhido pelos outros bichos para representá-los diante dos humanos, após uma reunião que ocorreu "debaixo de um lindo ipê amarelo, sensato e de fala mansa" (ah, e era um ipê que tinha poderes mágicos, até então descohecidos dos outros bichos e plantas).
Com o menino, chamado Mateus, passou-se o mesmo: ele participou de uma reunião equivalente àquela, só que na associação dos moradores da sua cidade, em que a figura central, o prefeito, era um cara barbudo, certamente familiar, que, subliminarmente, faria as vezes do equivalente humano do tal ipê (muito embora seja verdade que o sábio do grupo humano fosse outro, um tal de professor Sócrates).
Ok, ok. Sem teoria da conspiração. É só uma estorinha para crianças dormirem.

The panda, as far as I know, is admittedly a nice creature, as if unable to do any kind of harm to another living being.
But the lion is totally diffent: I think no one doubts the readiness (and efficiency) of its bite. Its intimidating image fills up the imagination of Brazilian taxpayers.
To undo its bad reputation, without divorcing itself from the image of the big cat, the Internal Revenue Service of Brazil launched a program targeting on future taxpayers: the website Leãozinho or little lion (by the way, very cute).
At that tribute-friendly environment, I was well entertained, until being confronted with a very strange type of déjà vu: a lion-like panda (or panda-like lion, I no longer know) ... Let me try to explain it better: at the website, the link "our story" leads to a booklet called "The lion and the boy," which tells how these two characters, unhappy with their worlds, have teamed up to save their world.
So far, so good. But it happens that the lion was chosen by the other animals to represent them before the humans, after a meeting that took place "under a beautiful yellow ipe, wise, soft-spoken" (oh, and it also had magical powers, that ipe, untill then unknwon for other animals and plants).
Something equivalent to that event happened to the boy, named Matthew, who attended a meeting at the association of city dwellers, which central figure, the mayor, is a bearded guy, certainly familiar, and it seemed to me that, at a subliminal way, would be the human equivalent of such wonderful ipe (although the wiser man at the group was another one: a teacher called Socrates).
Ok, ok. No conspiracy theory. It's nothing but a bedtime story for children.
