Estes são tempos de campanha eleitoral. Estou apática em relação à disputa. Não voto em Dilma (PT); mas isso não significa, nem de longe, que eu seja serrista, porque tampouco permito-me votar em Serra (PSDB). A imprensa deixa-me com a impressão de que quem não vota em Dilma só pode votar em Serra; quem não está com Serra só pode estar com Dilma.
Mestre Tzen, desanimado, disse que anulará seu voto.
Entendo o sentimento dele. Se já é muito difícil escolher um candidato para presidente, imagine ter de escolher governador, deputado estadual, deputado federal, senador... Credo! Essa gente vai influenciar nos rumos do país nos próximos anos, temos de escolher certo... ô tarefa inglória!
O que privilegiar nessa escolha? O programa do partido do candidato (que, na maioria dos casos, não é levado a sério nem pelo candidato)? O interesse corporativo (quando o candidato se liga a alguma bancada específica)? O interesse econômico? A ética? A falta de ética?
Para mim, o candidato ideal deveria ser comprometido com a defesa dos ideais democráticos (como o respeito irrestrito aos direitos humanos e a igualdade de oportunidade – educacional, de saúde – para a população). Sim, tenho quase quarenta anos e ainda nutro uma certa utopia, apesar de toda a barbaridade que desfila diante de nossos olhos diariamente.
No fundo do meu coração entristecido, acredito que nossa democracia amadurecerá. Acreditando nisso, votarei nas pessoas que me parecerem mais éticas e cujas idéias pareçam mirar mais nosso futuro coletivo.
Como saber se um candidato é ético, se não o conhecemos pessoalmente e se nem sempre se pode confiar na imprensa? Se pudermos, minimamente, interpretar os dados, ligar os fatos, podemos nos beneficiar de uma ferramenta nova na rede:
Nesse site, no link “CANDIDATOS POR ESTADO”, encontramos informações sobre os candidatos, divididos por Estado. Ali, por exemplo, vê-se quanto aumentou o patrimônio de determinado sujeito (candidato), a partir da comparação do patrimônio declarado por ele nesta eleição e na anterior (2010-2006).
Ali, também dá pra saber se o candidato foi punido por Tribunais de Contas ou é processado na Justiça por certos crimes (gente, deixemos o Supremo, no seu ritmo, decidir sobre a aplicabilidade da lei da ficha limpa nesta eleição. Vamos no nosso tempo, que é agora!).
Dá gosto de ver uma iniciativa tão boa dessas! Aproveite o fato de você não ser um dos milhões de analfabetos funcionais de nosso país e, por favor, permita-se perder 5 minutinhos e passear pelos dados dos candidatos de seu Estado.
Mas cuidado, porque depois não poderemos mais dizer que não sabíamos de nada!
These are times of Brazilian election campaigns. I'm apathetic about the dispute. I do not vote on Dilma (PT), but this does not mean, even remotely, that I could vote on Serra. I will not vote on Serra (PSDB). The press seems to tell that those who do not vote on Dilma can only vote on Serra, who is not with Serra can only be with Dilma.

I understand his feeling. It is hard enough to choose one candidate for being a president, imagine having to also choose the governor, state legislator, congressman, senator ... Yikes! These people will influence the direction of the country in coming years, we have to choose right ... what a daunting task!
What should we emphasize at this task? The program of the party's candidate (who, in most cases, it is not taken seriously either by the candidate)? Corporate interest (when the candidate is bound to some specific bench)? The economic interests? Ethics? The lack of ethics?
For me, the ideal candidate should be committed to the defense of democratic ideals (such as the unrestricted respect for human rights and greater equality in the distribution of education and health). Yes, I have nearly forty years and I still have this utopia, despite all the barbarity that passes before my eyes daily.
Deep in my grieved heart I believe our democracy will be mature. Believing this, I will vote on people that seem more ethical for me and whose ideas seems to target our collective future.
But, how to tell if a candidate is unethical, if we do not know him/her personally and how much can we trust the press? If we could only, minimally, to interpret the data, connecting the facts, we could benefit from a new tool in the network:

On that site, at the link "CANDIDATE FOR STATE," we find information about candidates, divided by state. There, for example, it's possible to see the variation of the candidate assets comparing what he declared in this election and the previous one (2010-2006).
The website also shows if the candidate have being punished by the Courts of Auditors or have being sued in justice for some crime (folks, let the Supreme Court, in its own pace, decide on the applicability of the law of clean sheet in this election. We can decide ourselves, in our time , that is now!).
It's really a pleasure to see such a nice initiative! Let's enjoy the fact that we are not one of millions of functional illiterates in our country and please, let's allow ourselves to lose 5 minutes and stroll through the data of the candidates from our state.
But be careful, because we will no more be able to say that he knew nothing about it!
