Desta vez, assisti à palestra do Ze Frank ("Ze Frank’s web playroom", no http://www.ted.com/talks/ze_frank_s_web_playroom.html)

FOR CHANGE – Connecting the world through music.

O Playing for Change conquistou meu coração!

Yes, TED.com.

Do you prefer strae burnt as my monothematic? I don't think so. Well, at least be happy for me, because, finally, I can breathe the fresh air because it's raining again, which decreases the spread of the smoke from the sugar cane straw burning (and the babies sugar cane are, basically, just growing in the field).

So, I saw Ze Frank's talk ("Ze Frank's web playroom" - http://www.ted.com/talks/ze_frank_s_web_playroom.html).

One may say he is some kind of an agitator in the virtual world, creating projects opened to the contribution of all the cyber-space's users.

At his lecture, Ze Frank talks about how we get immersed in the virtual world, experiencing it (not paying attentinon to anything else but the message on the phone, to which we smille at). Yeah, that's where he've got me.

He also said that what we really want is just to "feel and be felt." For him, people seek connection with others, although this is not really easy to achieve. This connection often take place in virtual environments, as he demonstrates at the various projects that he presents to the audience.

The last one was a song created to justify the a virtual coral formed by the voices of the volunteers of one of his freak projects. If that makes someone feel better, fine, continue doing it forever. It may be cute, but does not seems to be very effective.

At least for me, it works much better another type of project, like the incredible "PLAYING FOR CHANGE - Connecting the world through music".

This is a musical project (about which was been made an interesting documentary) that arose when, in 2005, it's producer heard a certain singer from the streets of Santa Monica, CA, named Roger Ridley singing "Stand By Me."

The team recorded the delightful voice of Ridley and sent it to various musicians around the globe and they gave their contribution (playing their drums or doing backup vocals) to make the song even more beautiful.

Encouraged by the result, they've created a multimedia movement called "Global Movement for Peace and Understanding" that aims to connect the world through music.

The Playing for Change totally won my heart!

Isabel do Chile

I saw a documentary where a friendly Isabel Allende exposed her life - and her intelligence - to the world.

The twists and turns of her life were showed in opposition to the upheavals of the world  that she was leaving behind: fleeing the military coup of 1973, she came out of Chile, taking refuge in Venezuela.

Only the same fairy tale: today, Allende lives in the USA.

Gaiola mental...

Pre-cordilheira (Andes) Mendoza, Argentina

Fim de ano na fossa... a música tema perfeita para minha gaiola mental: U2 - Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqFXZMdpMuk)

End of year into the gloom... perfect theme song for my mental cage: U2 - Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqFXZMdpMuk)

In fact, until last week, I could also say that this was the song of environmental debate until now: "Stuck In A Moment ".

But, after Obama's government have - apparently - found a bureaucratic way to  circumvent an eventual negative from the U.S. Congress in approving targets for the climate, I suggest another U2's music for climate negotiators: 'Sweetest thing'!  (or, in a poorly translation: "That's the guy!").

Http://www.telegraph.co.uk (no artigo: Half a million gather in Havana for controversial Cuban concert)

While I tried to diminish the legacy of my misery - in fact, the mere illusion of owning any 'power' over the future keeps me quite entertained, of course, because I'm blogging - yesterday it occurred in Castro's Cuba an unprecedented musical event: a concert named "Peace without Borders", sponsored by the Colombian singer Juanes ...

This event attracted thousands of people, who gathered under the frying caribbean
sun, as witnessed blog Yoani Generaccion Y, which is linked here in this blog, at the top right.

For her, I hope today has not dawned a Monday like any other, as she supposed it would happen ... despite knowing that her little kid will still be learning at school that socialism is the only option for their country.

I've checked Tzen Master's opinion over this and he said: "I'm too old to be dazzled with this kind of thing ... How could an event like this happen in Cuba? This Juan, the singer, is Colombian, right? Is he a dissenting then? Yeah, because if Colombia is supposedly the largest U.S. ally in Latin America, how could that be possible? Is Raul [Castro] simply more open minded than his brother [Fidel]? "

Amused to Death

Besides that another issue that I will not mention anymore, it seems that recently, the illustrious minds only talk about Susan Boyle and how the world got surprised with the contrast of her image and her soft voice ... crazy thing! It seems that Amy Winehouse never existed.
